Flat butt? Here’s a fitness tip for a healthy big butt!

Believe it or not, most of the work I have done as a personal trainer and holistic movement practitioner in the last 5 years has been around building efficiency in the Gluteus Maximus (largest butt muscles). Although the Gluteus Maximus does function with many other muscles of the body, it is the main powerhouse your body utilizes for movement. If there is one major commonality I find between all people I work with, from professional athletes to software technicians, is an underdevelopment of the Gluteus Maximus. As I have mentioned several times before, the act of sitting happens to be one of the primary reasons for this problem existing in the first place. The body needs physical action based upon its biological evolutionary needs, sitting does not feed this need. Sitting feeds the body an over-development and tightening of the hip flexors that disable the Gluteus Maximus, leading to an Anterior Pelvic Tilt and an assortment of many other physical problems in the body.

There are 2 muscles that overdevelop as a result of sitting: Gluteus Medius and Gluteus Minimus. In this video, I teach you how to release these two muscles with the Theracane.
